Reindeer sledding

Reindeer sledding

Our collaboration partner Ailo will gladly come with his reindeer so Reisastua’s guests can try this exotic sport. Adventure seekers can try skiing behind the reindeer or you can sit on a sled and be driven by the reindeer as the Sami people have done for hundreds of years. This is a popular and 100 percent environmentally-friendly activity! Ailo and his family have trained the reindeer for several years, which is a particularly demanding task.

There are many options for reindeer sledding activities:
The easiest option is to hire the reindeer and a guide for a two-hour session on the river right below Reisastua.

Another option is to take a day-trip up along the river to the Mollisfossen waterfall. We offer a wonderful experience, well away from the noise from snowmobiles.

We can also offer reindeer sledding trips on the mountain plain to fishing lakes off the snowmobile trail network for guests in search of peace and tranquillity.
The Sami guides are well-acquainted with the local area and know of secret lakes where big Arctic char are waiting! Setting up a tented camp is included in the price.
Sami herdsmen have used their traditional lavvu for hundreds of years and our guests will gain an insight into Sami culture and traditions.

It is also possible to purchase traditional Sami handicrafts as a genuine souvenir.

For corporate trips, lasso casting can be a form of competition that many have never tried before.
