The 2008 season started on July 1. The water level was extremely high during the first week, which meant those fishing with lures had an advantage for the first few days. A lot of salmon were caught, including one weighing 23 kg. The season was excellent in the entire river with few small and medium sized salmon. It was extra exciting since many deep pools had salmon weighing above 20 kg.
